FOR SALE: AUSTIN HEALEY 1958 Sprite Mk1 - $16,000 (posted 14 feb 2008) Withdrawn from Sale

Alpine Silver colour, modified 1275cc 4 cylinder engine with 45 DCOE weber and extractors. Later model sprite gearbox, front disc brakes and improved rear axle. Alloy wheels.

Ex Gordon Mitchell, Ex Frank Vanderworm car. Racing Log book. This car has a long competition history.

Restored in the 1990’s by the current owner to a straight and solid car.

Many valuable spare parts are available with the car, including doors, trim pieces, Mk1 gearbox, rear axle, twin 1 1/ 8” carbs, formula junior 948cc crank, Cooper rods, cams etc, etc.

This very attractive car is road licensed and has had a recent professional 2 pack spray job and is fitted with a good quality front-hinged fiberglass bonnet.. The seats are black with white piping. The Sprite has a removable aluminium roll-over bar and has a matching alpine silver “works-type” hard top (needs a new rear window). It has newly restored side screens. I will organize to adapt the car to a customer’s requirements , if requested.

Red colour, standard 2600cc 4 cylinder, restored 3 nullabor plain crossings (27 years) ago. Engine and gearbox and overdrive were overhauled 25,000km ago – still in good order. 72 spoke wires.The paintwork is a bit tired, but this is still a very attractive and reliable car.

Has good roof and side screens and tonneau, luggage rack, louvred bonnet with “100M” leather strap, black leather upholstery with red piping, red “armour-cord” carpet, all in good order.

Has standard good condition fiberglass front shroud and wings (with original material spare panels for restoration) and a 1960’s side exhaust in passenger sill with louvred cover (improves ground clearance!). Regn. AHI954.
